Class Schedule

 Sewing

Beginner Hand Sewing, age 6 and up. Learn the basics of hand sewing, basic embroidery

and make a project to take home.

July 5, 1-3 pm,

$10

 

 

Beginner Machine Sewing, age 7 and up. Learn the basics of sewing safely, and make a project to take home. All supplies and sewing machines are provided.

July 12, 1-3 pm,  $10

 

Bring on the Buttons, 2 classes, age 8 and up. Make and decorate a 12" quilt block with yo-yo’s and buttons. This is a 2-day class. Should have knowledge of sewing machine. June 28 & 30, 1-3 pm, $20

 

 

Magic Pillowcase, age 10 and up. This is a great class for a parent and child to take together. Create a fun pillowcase with contrasting border you have to see to believe.

July 15, 10-12 noon, $10

 

 

 

Scrappy Log Cabin Pillow, age 8 and up. Make a log cabin quilt block and finish it as a pillow  June 29, 1-3 pm.

This class will be repeated on July 26, 1-3 pm, $10

 

 

Make a Picture Frame,  Hand sewing, age 8 and up. Create a picture frame with plastic canvas. Learn some embroidery stitches and suprise your parents with a nifty picture frame (your picture included). All supplies provided.

June 24, 10-12 noon, $10

 

 

Double Layer Cake Pin Cushion,  Age 8 and up. Lets make these delicious pin cushions. No sewing required! All materials provided.

June 21, 10-12 noon, 

$10 plus $3 supplies fee.

 

 

 

Owl Pin Cushion,  Age 8 and up. Let's add a touch of nature and make this sweet owl pin cushion. A good way to use denim.

June 28, 10-12 noon,

$10 plus $3 supplies fee.

 

 

 

Strawberry Pin Cushion,  Age 8 and up. Lets make this adorable seasonal strawberry pin cushion. Makes a great gift!

July 5 10-12 noon, 

$10 plus $3 supplies fee.

 

 

 

Baskets

 

Square Basket, 2 classes, age 10 and up. This basket starts with a square base. Choose your own colors for the sides to make your own design. This is a 2-day class.

June 23rd & June 24th (2 days),

1-3 pm,

$20 plus $7 supplies fee

  

 

Market Basket with Handle, 2 classes, age 12 and up. Learn to make a reed basket for market. This class will require two (2) half-day sessions to complete the basket. Reed and basket handles will be provided. July 6 & 7,

1-3 pm,

$20 plus $10 supplies fee. 

 

 

Knitting

 

Kid’s Knitting, 3 classes, age 9-14, This is a 3-day class. Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off, while creating a funny animal or a small bag.

August 2,3, & 4, (3 days)

9:30 - 11 am, $25

 

 

 

Weaving

 

Weaving with Potholder Looms, Age 8 and up. Colorful potholders or large coasters will be woven on 9" potholder looms. Learn to create patterns by color, arrangement of loops, learn basic weaving terms.

June 21 & 22, 1-2:30 pm,  $15 

 

 

Historic Crafts and fun stuff

 

Felted Soap, age 6 and up. Wrap a bar of soap in colorful woolroving. It’s like a soap in a wash cloth. When the soap is gone, you will have a felted wool bag. Students will provide a bar of Dove soap. July 19,

10-11 am, 

$5 plus $5 supplies fee

 

 

 

Kumihimo Bracelet,  Ages 8 and up. Kumihimo is a Japanese braiding technique done on a card. Come  and make a colorful bracelet to wear.

July 21, 10 am-1 pm,

$15 plus $5 supplies fee.

 

 

 

 

Fathers Day Card, all ages. Construct a Fathers Day Card using rubber stamps and embellishments.

June 16,

1-2:30 pm,

$5

 

 

 

 

Visor or Fancy Hat Embellishment, ages 8 and up. Join us for a fun time embellishing and decorating either a visor (for the guys) of a fancy straw hat (for the girls) with beads, ribbons, and lots of other fun stuff. All supplies furnished. June 17,

1-3 pm,

$10

 

 

 

Paint a Bird House, age 7 and up. Join us for a fun time as we paint a home for our feathered friends. Painting, embellishment and other applications will be practiced.

June 17, 10-12 noon, 

$10 plus $3 supplies fee

 

 

 

 

Millifiore Beads, 2 classes, ages 7 and up. Use Fimo (polymer) clay to construct a "Cane" of a design chosen, student will learn to prepare, use a pasta machine to roll clay, designate a color plan and use a geometric pattern to construct their design, July 8th & 9th,

10-12 noon,

$20 plus $5 supplies fee.

 

 

 

 

Sock Buddies, Ages 7-10. Make a stuffed mouse or bunny, using a sock. Cut sew, stuff, sculpt head, ears, nose and mouth, and sew a dress or overalls & shirt to fit.

July 22, 10 am-1 pm.

$15 plus $5 supplies fee

 

 

 

 

Corn Husk Dolls, age 7 and up. Use corn husks to make a traditional doll. This age old design can take on several forms, a rose, a wreath, etc.

July 29, 10-12 noon,

$10, plus $3 supplies fee
